What our readers had to say …
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant
A unanimous ‘thumbs up’ – everyone enjoyed this
book
“Besides being an entertaining & compelling read,
this book enlightened me tremendously about life in Biblical times & the
fact that the people described in Genesis were real.”
“Really interesting, enlightening & surprising. I feel more intimately
involved in the Bible story of Genesis because of this book.”
The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver
“I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book … for the second time. It made me
think seriously about the role of missionary work and the ways in which
culture and political/social issues affect missionary work.”
“It (the book) was quite though
provoking and made me realize how much I have and what’s really important.”
“…one of my favorites.”
Snow in August, by Pete Hamill
“Pete Hamill drew me in with the
first sentence of Snow in August! I loved his writing – the
descriptions, the characters, the wonder, the triumph of good in the
presence of perfect faith. A beautiful fable!”
“…very interesting. I felt I
learned a lot about a time of great transition & tension in our country –
although I found the prejudice disturbing. The ending was amazing!”
